About Sinop

Although Sinop, located at the northernmost point of Turkey, is a city that has always been on the agenda with its prison, it is also a city that can be preferred for summer tourism with its untouched beaches.

This prison, where Sabahattin Ali also served time, became a frequent destination for people visiting Sinop. The song "Aldırma Gönül" was written in this prison. Other historical places such as the prison and Sinop Castle, where centuries-old tortures took place and many bad memories remain, are very important.

Sinop cuisine, which includes many cultural dishes such as ravioli, vinegared leeks, nokul, spoon stickers, is as old and deep-rooted as its history. Claimed to be Turkey's oldest fjord, Hamsilos is worth seeing.

There are many tea gardens in the port and it is possible to enjoy the sea from the most beautiful point of the Black Sea. Many areas such as the Ethnography Museum and Balatlar Church attract attention from a touristic point of view.
