About Elazığ

Located in the Upper Euphrates section of the Eastern Anatolia Region, Elazığ is the third largest province in Eastern Anatolia after the cities of Erzurum and Malatya.

People whose hometown is Elazığ are called gakgoş. B.C. There are traces of civilization in this city, where the Assyrian, Greek and Armenian population lived together, with its history dating back to the 20th century. The people, who make a living through industry, trade and agriculture, earn their living by planting agricultural products on fertile lands.

The fact that one of Turkey's largest hydroelectric power plants is located in this region has also led to development in the industrial field. It is in a highly developed position in the marble, printing, textile and dairy industries.

It is possible to find traces of every civilization in Elazığ, where culturally different civilizations coexist.
