Sami Yusuf, who blends world music traditions with a contemporary breath, is one of the most influential artists of our time on the international stage with his fascinating and large-scale events.
Sami Yusuf, creator of the When Paths Meet concert series, has released nine studio albums and thirteen live albums to date, selling over 45 million albums and selling over one billion digital downloads. His sold-out concerts have earned him critical acclaim from the Americas to Europe, the Middle East, Central and South Asia.
Some of their prominent concerts in recent years:
Sami Yusuf's artistic journey is not only a testament to his personal achievements, but also to the power of music to bridge cultures and create lasting legacies.
Sami Yusuf, a composer, multi-instrumentalist and musician, transforms aesthetic understandings into a common narrative with the elegant balance he establishes between the East and the West. The unifying meaning Yusuf attributes to music is a journey of discovery where musical traditions from different geographies come together in each concert; it is also a celebration.
The most original reflections of Sami Yusuf's musical and artistic vision emerge when he positions his musical heritage within a broad framework: the elegant guzheng of China, the enchanting sato, qo'shnay and dutar of Central Asia, the tombak and santur of Iran, the ney, divan saz and bendir of Anatolian geography, the sitar and tabla of Indian culture, the cello, viola, harpsichord and contrabass of Western tradition come to life with the sound of many instruments. Each carrying the spirit of their own geography, these instruments not only produce sound in Yusuf's compositions, but also bring cultural memory, temporal depth and aesthetic diversity to the stage. In recent years, Sami Yusuf has further enriched his works by drawing inspiration from legendary European composers and integrating the structure of Western classical music into his evolving musical narrative.
Sami Yusuf brings together master musicians from a wide geography extending from China to Central Asia, from Arabia to North and West Africa and Europe; and offers his audience a unique transcultural musical experience by bringing his new compositions and original arrangements to the stage in each performance.
